How it Works

How it Works

So how does a non-profit organization like yours raise funds at a night-at-the-races event?

Sponsorships

Fundraisers rely heavily on sponsorships to cover event costs, with the range of potential revenue based on the number and level of sponsors. It's crucial to recognize sponsors through methods such as signs, special badges, program mentions, or shoutouts by the event host.

Event Ticket Sales

For optimal results, host events with an audience of 250 or more guests, and set ticket prices to maximize profit without deterring attendance. With 300 attendees, a profit of $10 or $20 per ticket can raise $3,000 or $6,000, respectively.

Horse Owners

Selling "naming rights" for horses adds excitement and additional funds for your organization, with up to 120 horse names available on The Ultimate Race Nights DVD.  Prizes awarded to winning "owners" make your evening even more exciting for your guests.

Jockey Names

If horse names sell out, selling jockey names offers up to 120 additional ways to raise funds, potentially earning an additional $1,200 to $2,400 depending on the charge per jockey.

 Stable Names

If the naming rights to the horses and jockeys sell out faster than a thoroughbred heading for the wire, then sell the naming rights to the stable! Just like that, you've potentially raised another $1,200-$2,400 depending on the charge per stable!

Horse & Auction Races

Throughout the evening, attendees place $2 wagers on the horses they hope are going to win for each race. Payouts tend to be $4 - $12 per wager. Your organization keeps 50%-60% of the total take for each race. The final race of the evening is typically the auction race with horse naming rights for each horse auctioned off the highest bidder, just prior to the race.

Side Boards & 50/50

Side boards involve selling numbered tickets with winners receiving payouts from $50 to $500 based on the number of tickets sold and cost per ticket, providing another revenue stream for the organization. A 50/50 raffle involves selling tickets, selecting a winner, and splitting the pot, with creative ticket sale options like an "arm's length" or "wingspan" for bundled pricing.

 Basket Raffles

Organizations can host a Basket Raffle with tables full of donated items all wrapped up nice and pretty in baskets, where participants buy tickets to win, and every ticket sold translates to
pure profit!
